Day 2, Sunday, July 12, 2026

Worship

Pastor Pena

God was very present on this day of preparation. In the morning, we all attended worship, and those whose first time were able to experience what the returning members already knew to be true - the welcoming arms of our sister church’s congregation feel like coming home to those we’ve known for years. We were invited to partake in multiple parts of the service, including prayers shared by Teresa and Sarah, a benediction from Pastor Lori, and a musical offering team of Pam, Aaron, Debi, and Cheryl (with Pastor Lori translating from Spanish to English). It was wonderful to see the members of the two congregations worshipping together. There may be a chance to share the song with you all sometime in the future.

Medical Clinic Preparation

“Setting Up the Medical Clinic”

God was present in many ways today as we set up the medical clinic. Watching and learning from the experienced Honduran medical team as we prepared the space to be a center of blessings and answered prayers grew the excitement. Each station - the triage area, the wound care center, the well-stocked pharmacy, the different physician stations - will all be places where the veil between heaven and earth wears thin. As part of your generous donations, we were able to grow the reach of the clinic from one Honduran physician and a pharmacist to two Honduran physicians, the pharmacist, and a dentist. Thank you so much! The medical team is hoping to serve as many people as possible in the coming days.

Education Component Preparation

Education Team

While the clinic prep was in full swing, the education team met to discuss logistics for VBS. It was an amazing experience to see both sides growing in confidence, collaboration, and leadership. Our goal with this VBS is to be the support for the members of Danli Central, and it was wonderful to watch that unfold in real time. We also learned about a possible opportunity to sponsor children in the Danli school system. Several listeners were deeply touched through hearing about the great need, how we can help, and the powerful testimony of a member of Danli Central who was raised up through the scholarship program and is now working on a Master’s Degree.

As always, we closed the day with devotion, including singing and heartfelt expression of God moments, and prayer.
