Honduras Informational Gathering

If you have been to Honduras, are considering going to Honduras, or especially if you are considering going on this year's mission trip to Honduras, this will be a particularly important gathering. Join Lisa and Pastor Lori on Sunday, February 8, from noon - 1:00 p.m. We’ll have a “lunch and share” as we describe the overall vision and specific plans and more details on the two focus groups (Education or Medical) for our upcoming mission trip, July 11-18, 2026. We are super excited! There will be limited space on our mission trip, so if you are considering going, you may want to get in your application sooner rather than later. We have extended the application deadline to Feb 22, however, the sooner you apply the higher the chance you will be accepted into the mission trip. Feel free to contact Lisa or Pastor Lori with any questions or if you’d like to know more prior to Feb. 8. Sign up for the Honduras Informational Gathering so we know you are coming.

Consider traveling to beautiful, sunny Honduras, July 11-18, 2026!

All the Latest!

Last week Lisa and I had an awesome week in Honduras, making final preparations and connections for our Still Waters mission trip July 11-18, 2026. Here are a few high-level details to share at this time. (Maybe some of you might be interested in joining us! We are building our mission team now, applications due in February. ) Each participant in this mission trip will choose their “Focus Group.” We will go as one team, but at certain points during the mission trip, our team will do mission work according to their focus group.

Our two focus groups will be:

  • EDUCATION FOCUS GROUP:” Education is a key building block for the well-being and hope for the Honduran people. Our mission trip will focus on both education of children in the community as well as Christian education in our partner church. In the community, we will share VBS with the Carbonera school, one of the highest need schools in teh city. We will offer Vacation Bible School, leading with the people of Central UMC and building with them with the community. In support of Christian education, we’ll have the opportunity to paint murals in the Christian education section of our partner church, Central UMC. We also plan to tour another public local school, and will learn about a scholarship program to help children in the area to attend public school. Even though public school is technically ‘free,’ many cannot attend because they cannot afford uniforms and supplies and other items. Participants in the Education Focus Group need not have education background. It will be amazing for all!

  • MEDICAL MISSION FOCUS GROUP.” There are many in Honduras who don’t have adequate access to medical care. Our team members will partner with Honduran medical doctors, and pharmacist to address existing health concerns and provide preventive health care in a clinic we will set up at our partner church. Our team will provide needed health care for those who otherwise would go without. Team members need not have medical training to participate on the medical mission team. The medical mission focus group will have an extra cost for trip participants to pay for the Honduran doctors and extra supplies. Talk to Lisa or Lori if you would like to either contribute to a scholarship fund to help with the extra cost or if you are a participant who would benefit from a scholarship to defray the extra cost of the medical mission!

WHOLE TEAM:

During our time in Honduras, some time will be spent in our two focus groups, and then much of our trip will be spent as the entire team together, eating, laughing, worshipping, and experiencing Christ’s amazing presence on the mission field. See item below to apply or find out more. Talk to Pastor Lori or Lisa if you have any questions.
